HAVE YOU REARRANGED THE FLOWERS?

Through different forms of language, text and positioning in the space buren conduct the visitor’s imagination to seen and unseen places and create a new perspective on the installed and mental space over and over again. Tableaux vivants pop up and shift again. They play with the idea that the image is used to illustrate reality, meanwhile reality is dictated by the image.

Did we become spectators of our own existence? Or are we promenading in an endless (reality) show? A popsong sets the mood for a  large part of the performance. In the song several subjects are touched: love for the material, consumption, ownership, gender, time and space, memory, the constant attempt to get a hold on the image. You could say this show situates itself between Godard and Tupperware.
